China's Gigantic Desert Puzzles - Why?

There has been arecent discovery made on Google Maps. In the middle of a Chinese desert, there are intricate networks of lines in the desert.

What are they made of, metal of white plastic material or something else. Or the lines could have been made by digging in the dirt.

The mystery location is in Dunhuang, Jiuquan, Gansu. Which is north of the Shule River which crosses the Tibetan Plateau over to the west of the Kumtag Desert.

These lines are huge, viewable from outer space-like a targetting grid. Some even look like the American HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research) project. HAARP is located near Gakona, Alaska, and is funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, DARPA, and the University of Alaska.

One of these "structures" is about 18 miles in length.

In another photo, the Chinese built a 1:20th scale model of the disputed border region between China and India. A terrain model that is .7 by 1 kilometer sand table to play wargames with 1:20th scale tanks???

So what is really going on here? I don't think we are going to like the answers no matter what is really going on here.

The F-35 in the News Again

Two pieces of news dealing with the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

With China's increased military buildup, countries are looking harder at the progress being made with the F-35 test program. And in light of the recent release of information covering China's new J-20 "Fifth Generation" jet fighter. A stealthy, radar-eluding high end fighter aircraft. (F-35B picture shows aircraft in SVTOL mode. Smaller picture shows the J-20 in flight).

Lochkeed Martin's Tom Burbage, the general manager of the F-35 program; said that China's J-20 progress has created a "Stronger sense of urgency" throughout the Asian-Pacific region about air force modernization. Japan, South Korea, Singapore are indiscussions with U.S. government over the future of the F-35 and their purchase of the F-35.

The other bit of news was the progress the F-35B was finally making in the SVTOL flight test program. The F-35A and C models test flight program has been making better progress than the Marine's Harrier replacment. Test between January 6 and the 13th are among the 42 expected test flights that must be completed before the F-35B can be tested at sea on a amphibious assault ship.

Problem with the verticle fan lift doors have forced the delay of the F-35B part of the JSF program.

UFO Delays Air Travel in China

Discovered this article through the Drudge Report.com. Actual link to article below.

A photograph was taken of the UFO hovering over Hangzhou. The capital of East China's Zhejiang province late Wednesday on July 7, 2010. Photo from Metro Express.

Xiaoshan Airport was closed after the UFO was detected at 9pm. Some flights were redirected to other cities such as Nigbo and Wuxi, said a Chinese spokesman (unnamed of course). Flights were delayed up to 3-4 hours before normal schedules were resumed. Source: China Daily(By Yang Yijun).

The UFO appears to be of the "cigar" class of object with smaller lights (windows?) above the main light/underbelly of the object.

UPDATE (July 11, 2010): From Information Dissemination.net, this is nothing more than rocket debris-they think. Link added below in Ref section.

Four Women in Orbit at Same Time

Well, the old workhorse Discovery got off the pad on the first try today at 6:21am in a pre-dawn launch carrying seven astronauts and supplies up to the International Space Station (ISS).

Three on the launch of shuttlecraft Discovery and one up on the ISS already for a record of 4 females in outer space at the same time.

Here is a breakdown of the female crewmembers. Dorothy "Dottie" Metcalf-Lindenburger is 34 years old. Stephanie Wilson is the robot arm expert coming in at age 43. And Naoko Yamazaki who will be the second Japanese woman ever to fly into space. Yamazaki is 39 years old. On the station now is Tracy Caldwell Dyson and she is 40 years old.

Discovery will dock with the space station on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. There will be a total of 13 people (men and women) in orbit this time around.

And Discovery is expected to spend 13 days in orbit.

Now, while the shuttle is docked at the space station, President Barrack H. Obama is planning on holding some sort of summit to discuss the future of American manned spaceflight.

Richard C. Hoagland talked about what might happen in President Obama's speech on April 15, 2010. But no one really knows what is going to happen then. What will be talked about. Even WHERE on Kennedy Space Center complex the event will be held. On Coast to Coast Am radio program on April 4/5, 2010; Richard C. Hoagland stated that he will be posting some information on his website this date. As of 7am CST, I only see the white paper entitled "The New Frontier of Hope" with a picture of President John F. Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, that has been 'bumped' to the top behind a promo for a DVD Hoagland is selling. That is entitled "Secrets-The Startling New NASA... Kennedy.. Obama Connection to 2012."

It might be taking longer to finish up the paper to upload to his website. But Hoagland also told the C2Cam audience that China and India will be present at this special summit on the 15th.

So once again, I guess the best way to sum this posting up is that NASA is still acting 'odd.'

UPDATE: Like the title to a 3rd season episode of the original Star Trek series "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky," Enterprise Mission has finally posted its white paper. Please use the link in the ref section below to read that posting. Basically in a nutshell: Mars moon Phobos is an ancient spacecraft. Its one third hollow! It will eventually break up due to the gravational pull of Mars. Quote: For, a Martian moon that is demonstrably "1/3 hollow" ... as measured by two totally independent space programs, and separated by ~20 yars ... under ANY likely astrophysical formation scenario CANNOT EXIST ... as just a "natural" moon! And this pulled quote: Which, according to the verbal description coming from our ESA source, is divided into "three ... or four, major, quarter-to-half-mile-wide geometric chambers ... distributed tetrahedrally inside a denser, partially-hollow RF-translucent interior structure ...."

So that is pretty cool.

China's Yinghuo-1 Set to Go to Mars

News from Beijing is that China will be launching a probe to the red planet on top of a Russian booster later this year.

Yinghuo-1 (or "Firefly Light-1" that weighs in at 253 pounds) recently passed a preformance test that clears it to be transported to Russia for final fit out.  Yinghuo-1 is to fly to Mars and enter into Mars orbit in 2010 for a two year stay.

No additonal word as of yet about China's plans to send astronauts to the moon.  Last year, China's third manned spaceflight had their first spacewalk.

Bad Chinese Chips = US Security Penetrated. Chinese Propose Copper base Currency

I found on www.heritage.org a article back in 2007 about China's quest to become a military superpower.  This aphorism that old Charlie Chan himself could have utter:  "Listen to what they say, but observe what they do."

What Beijing is saying is quite different from what it is doing.

It has been reported recently that Chinese cyber-spies have penetrated the US computer system.  Such things as Banks, Power Grids, etc.  Now comes word some computer chips in our fighter planes may also be comprimised.  I.E. a modern-day Trojan Horse put into place by the Chinese security forces.  China says its not resposible (I'm sure that is the case - just haven't found that news report yet).

National Counterintelligence Executive, Joel Brenner of the University of Texas at Austin stated in a transcript released on Wednesday, "Chinese penetrations of unclassified DoD networks have also been widely reported.  Those are more sophisticated, though hardly state of the art.

He added, "We're also seeing counterfeit routers and chips, and some of those chips have made their way into the US military fighter aircraft.  You don't sneak counterfeit chips into another nation's aircraft to steal data.  When it's done intentionally, its done to degrade systems, or to ahve the ability to do so at a time of one's choosing."

Joel Brenner said that the Chinese were mapping our the US network systems.

China has also realized that it has WAY TOO much of USA's debt on its hands.  So they are dumping the dollar and buying up copper.  They have also been aquiring huge stocks of aluminium, zinc, nickel, and rarer metals such as indium (thin-film technology).  Also titanium, rhodium (that can be used in such thngs as catalytic converters and praseodymium (for glass).  John Lennon, head of commodities at Macquarie Bank said, "(Chinese)They are definitely buying metals to diversify out of US Treasuries and dollar holdings."

UBS Metals Chief, John Reade said, Beijing may have made a strategic decision to stockpile metal as an alternative to foreign bonds. "We're very surprised by Chinese demand.  They are buying much more copper than they will need this year.  If this is strategic, there may be no effective limit on the purchases as China's pockets are deep."

China may be worried that the U.S. Federal Reserve is in the process of creating a (covert) default on America's debt by printing money.  Premier Wen Jiabao issued a blunt warning last month that China was tiring of US bonds.  He is concerned about the huge amount of money lent to the U.S. and thus worried about the safety of those assets.

By going the metal route instead of buying more U.S. bonds is that it "Kills so many birds with one stone.  It stops the yuan rising, without provoking complaints of currency manipulation by Washington, D.C..  Metals are mroe esily stored in warehouses, unlike oil.  The holdings are likely to rise in value over time since the earth's crust is gradualy depleting its accessible ores.  Above all, such a policy safeguards China's industrial revolution - while the West will one day face a supply crisis.

China is not buying gold.  They say that there is just as much chance of having a "Copper Standard" backing the currency as there is the old standby, "Gold Standard."

"Listen to what they say, but observe what they do."

Japan Wants the Moon Also!

In a Reuters.com news article by Yoko Kubota (March 6, 2009. "Japan considers putting robot on moon"), Japan is now considering putting a robot on the moon by 2020 and a astronaut by 2030.  This amid concerns of being left behind in a supposed asian space race (China and India).

These plans come after China's first space walk and the launch of India's first unmanned moon mission in 2008.  China is planning on putting their astronauts on the moon someday although no schdule has yet been released.

A official for the (Japan's) Strategic Headquarters for Space Policy (SHSP) said, "Some experts are concerned that unless there is an independent program, then Japan may be left behind in terms of space development."

"If large scale space development projects, such as moon probes or space solar power system, are conducted, not only robots but also people will have to be there.  The technology of manned space programs will certainly become the foundation in such cases." that government offical said.

Japan's space flight history had setbacks in the 1990s and only recently since 2007 with their lunar explorer.  Six astronauts have been sent into space with the United States or Russia.

There are also concerns with North Korea's nuclear and missile capabilites.  That lead to recent changes to (Japan's) decades old pacifist policy with the passage of a law allowing the military use of outer space for Japan's Defense Forces.

JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) has a annual budget of 228 billion yen ($2.3 billion).  This is just a small percentage of Nasa's $17 billion annual spending.

China Plans for its Own Aircraft Carrier?

China is increasing its military budget by 14.9 percent which brings their spending to 480.7 billion yuan ($70.2 billion dollars approx).

U.S. claims that real spending is much higher than this announced budget.

China is upgrading its nuclear arsenal and has confirmed plans to build its first aircraft carrier.  Still unclear in Richard Spencer's article if that funding is in this budget.  (I'm making a guess that it is.  Because it goes right along with naval flight training that Chinese pilots have been doing).

If China does build a aircraft, it is presumed to be along the lines of the Russian Admiral Kuznetzov.  That ship is 300 meters long by 73 meters wide.  Unlike U.S. aircraft carriers, the Kuznetzov has only two conventional steam engines for power.  American carriers are almost all nuclear power now.  Capable of carrying 2600 people.  The ship carries (16) Yak-41 Freestyle and (12) SU-33 Flanker-D jet fighters.  Helicopters carried are (4) Ka-27LD Helix, (18) Ka-27PLO and (2) Ka-27S helicopters.

Weapons carried include anti-submarine missiles and "Shipwreck" anti-ship missiles.

Chinese Diamond Shape UFO 2009

January 19, 2009 – Posted on line by All News Web. Fire-fighters of Liu Pan Shui City which is in the province of Guizhou, China, recently observed and videotaped a strange object this month. One of the fire-fighers, a Wang Jia Wei, first spotted the brightly flashing star moving in a south easterly direction and went inside the barracks to get a camera.

The camera he picked up was a Panasonic that the fire-fighters use to record damage. Fitted with a 700x zoom capability, he quickly zoomed in on the object and began to film it.

It was at this point that Wang noted that the object was like two rotating spinning tops joined at their bases. It was flashing several colors such as: Purple, red, blue, orange, white, and gold.
Wang then called out to his eight fellow fire-fighters so that they two can observe the slow moving craft. The entire encounter lasted for almost an hour when it finally vanished.

Wang managed to get 20 minutes of video footage and showed it to local Chinese reporters. They also contacted the local meteorological bureau two days after the sighting to seek out some answers. After showing the video, the officials were unable to identify the object, “declaring that it is indeed a UFO” to quote the article. The video was turned over for further study to the Chinese government astronomical department for further analysis. All News Web released a still from the video to go along with their posted article.

The photo is of the “Diamond” shape UFO that has been seen all over the globe for many, many years now. Local Chinese news media has played up the sighting and only now is it starting to break out into the world media.

Obama: Pentagon and NASA To Work Ever Closer

In a article posted to Bloomberg.com (on January 02, 2009) and later on Drudge Report.com (where I found out about it); President-elect Barack Obama wants the Pentagon and NASA to work together to speed up a mission to the moon to counter what many preceive to be a new space race - between China and the United States of America. As a part of this effort to boost coperation between the two govermental agencies, the Obama team is promising to revive the National Aeronautics and Space Council which was in effect back in the First Space race era (basically from 1958 to 1973). The photograph above is of China's first space walk last year.

The Obama transition team is looking into a collaboraton between the Department of Defense (DoD) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)because the rockets used my the military are cheaper and more readly availiable than the space agency's planned Orion/Aries launch system. The later isn't expected to fly until around 2015 - five years after the shuttles are to be ground according to the rules that the President George W. Bush administration set into place.

One doesn't have to be in the Defense Department nor a Pentagon planner to be concerned over China's space ambitions. DoD is more concern over the fact of China's anti-satellite warfare capablitiy than if they land on the moon. But the technology to get to the moon such as in-orbit rendevous and docking, have our DoD sleeping less these nights.

The Pentagon's space budget is several times larger than the NASA budget. In the article, it was quoted as being about $22 billion for fiscal year 2008. That money, the Obama team sees, can be tapped in order to get the Orion/Aries moving quicker to flight status. And the Pentagon is actually in support of combining launch vehicles. NASA hasn't spoken with the Pentagon over man rating the Delta IV and or the Atlas V rockets built by United Launch Alliance (a joint venture of Boeing and Bethesda, which is a Maryland-based Lockheed Martin Corp.). The Delta IV and the Atlas V are designed for launching satellites.

One would think that it would not take too much time to man rate the newest generation of the Atlas booster. The Delta series has never launched a human occuplied space capsule. It would take longer to man rate it than the Atlas V.

As it current stands, China will be able to get their people to the moon before we can get back there. China space agency currently plans on testing a auto-docking system in 2010.

Chavez's Venezuela To Buy Chinese K-8 Trainers

Dictator Hugo Chavez is on a tour of China recently where it was announced that Venezuela will purchase 24 of the Chinese K-8 trainers for the Venezuelan Air Force. The new trainers could start to appear in Venezuelan skies in the next year. The Chinese will also help build a new shipyard to build new oil tankers for trading Chavez's oil with the Chinese. Current exports as of April 2008 was in the 250,000 barrels per day and by next year, that figure should be closer to 500,000 barrels per day in 2010. In addition to that, three oil refineries, to be located in the Orinoco region which is in the eastern part of that South American country.

Chavez calls China a "Strategic Ally." Especially since the PRC will contribute 4 billion dollars of a 6 billion bilateral investment fund. Chavez's Venezuela provides the remaining balance to that fund.

Russia sent some Tu-160 bombers to Venezuela as well as some naval ships including the big missile cruiser Peter the Great, to begin "training runs" in the Caribbean. This is to counter the "threats" that the USA has been making by "supporting" Georgia. Also tensions have risen over the US being able to get countries like Poland to go along with the missile defense shield prgram. The Tu-160 kinda looks like the American B-1B bomber. The Times On Line from the UK had a good article by Tony Halpin (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article4804157.ece) that gives more detail on the ships involved. Peter the Great carries 20 nuclear tipped cruise missiles and hundreds of surface to air missiles for defense. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin has courted Venezuela and Cuba as tensions developed between Russia and the USA.

Russia gets to use the useful puppet Chavez and let the puppet make more anti-American noise than ever before. This also lets ole Hugo's ego get bigger and bigger. Does it take a rocket scientist to determine what is going to be facing the United States of America in the next decade as long as ole Hugo remains in power?
